'Lucknow Central' team celebrated I-Day at Yerawada jail

Thursday,Aug 17, 2017

Dream so big that even the barricaded walls of a prison can't stop it — this was Farhan Akhtar's advice to over 4,000 inmates of Pune's Yerawada central jail. The actor, along with the cast of his upcoming film 'Lucknow Central', had visited the prison to celebrate Independence Day on Tuesday.

Farhan, who plays Kishen Mohan Girhotra, an aspiring singer in the Ranjit Tiwari-directorial, motivated the inmates to follow their heart and dreams even within the walls of the jail.

The makers also showcased 'Teen Kabootar', a track from the film that went live yesterday, exclusively for the inmates. While Farhan crooned his favourite number 'Meer-E-Karwaan' from the film's album along with composer Rochak Kohli, actors Deepak Dobriyal and Inaam-Ul-Haq were greeted with a loud cheer as they rendered a song with a cappella.

Also present on the occasion were actors Diana Penty, Ronit Roy, Ravi Kishan and Rajesh Sharma and music composer Arjunna Harjaie. The event was also graced by Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay, Additional Director General of Police, Swati Sathe, DIG Prisons, and UT Pawar, Superintendent, Yerwada Central Prison.

'Lucknow Central', produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment and Motion Pictures, releases on September 15.
