Last week, Kiara Advani started shooting for her new film, Indoo Ki Jawani, in Lucknow. Now, Mirror has got hold of the actress’s look from the Bhushan Kumar and Nikkhil Advani production. The titular character of the Abir Sengupta-directed comedy, Indoo is a feisty, nononsense girl from Ghaziabad who tends to get judgmental about people. Also featuring Aditya Seal, the film revolves around her experience with online dating, when she signs up on an app at the behest of her close friend following a bitter breakup. Kiara recently shot at a mall in the Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow. The sequence required her to beat up goons. “I’ve been prepping for the character ever since I signed the film. It’s finally time to live the character. Indoo is a part of every young Indian girl; she’s endearing, lovable and quirky. It’s going to be a cracking entertainer,”she gushes.

According to a source, reading sessions began a month before the film went on the floors. “Considering that her character is from Ghaziabad, where people speak in a certain manner, Kiara worked extensively on her diction and pronunciation. She also did look tests to get the appearance right as well as the mannerisms and body language associated with girls from the city,” the source informs.

The film’s team will be stationed in Lucknow for another three weeks, with a few days’ break in between for Diwali. Besides shooting, Kiara is also exploring local shopping haunts. “Since I’m coming back to Mumbai, I’ve bought some chikankari kurtas for my parents and some meetha, too,” she said, adding that she has been religiously following her exercise and diet regimen so she can “cheat and eat all the yummy desserts on Diwali”.
