Satyameva Jayate 2 to hit the theatres on Eid 2021

Monday, 21 Sept, 2020

In a fortnight, director Milap Milan Zaveri and his team will roll out Satyameva Jayate 2. John Abraham, who played the central character in the first outing of the franchise, will be back in the second one, too, performing action scenes that are powerful and heroic. Actress-producer-director Divya Khosla Kumar joins John as his leading lady. The film’s setting has been changed from Mumbai to Lucknow, and now, we hear that the makers — Bhushan Kumar, Nikkhil Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Monisha Advani — plan to bring out the film on Eid 2021 (May 12).

Talking about the project, Bhushan says, “Satyameva Jayate was a commercial hit. The audience loved the action and drama. John became our nation’s action hero. The success of the first part adds a lot of responsibility on our shoulders to deliver a bigger and better film this time around. John will don a never-seen-before look. The pandemic brought the world to a standstill. But with safety measures in place, the team is excited to start shooting the film in Lucknow, which plays an important part in the story.”

Milap elaborates, “Creatively we changed the script to Lucknow as it adds to the scale and grandeur. The action of this film is going to be ten times more dynamic, heroic and powerful than the first outing. While we have to be safe and wear a mask, it’s important to return to work and to our passion for providing entertainment to the audience.”

Nikkhil sums up, saying, “As citizens and as producers, we bear a commitment to renewed hygiene and safety norms.

At the risk of sounding immodest, I can say that my team is striving to be the best in providing a safe and secure environment on our sets. Over a period of time, as Milap kept developing the subject of Satyameva Jayate 2, he realised that India’s heartland lent itself increasingly to his plot line. As producers, we were happy to support his creative choices.”
